What is Arizona hiding? That is the question residents are asking in response to the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division announcement that it has been forced to file a federal lawsuit against the State of Arizona for failure to produce full voter registration lists upon request.

“This Department of Justice has now sued 23 states for failing to provide voter roll data and will continue filing lawsuits to protect American elections,” said Attorney General Pamela Bondi. “Accurate voter rolls are the foundation of election integrity, and any state that fails to meet this basic obligation of transparency can expect to see us in court.”

“Accurate voter rolls are essential to ensuring that American citizens’ votes count only once, and only with other eligible voters,” said Assistant Attorney General Harmeet K. Dhillon of the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division. “The Justice Department is committed to safeguarding fair and free elections, and will hold states accountable when they refuse to respect our federal elections laws.”

According to the lawsuits, the Attorney General is uniquely charged by Congress with the enforcement of the National Voter Registration Act (NVRA) and the Help America Vote Act (HAVA), which were designed by Congress to ensure that states have proper and effective voter registration and voter list maintenance programs.

The Attorney General also has the Civil Rights Act of 1960 (CRA) at her disposal to demand the production, inspection, and analysis of the statewide voter registration lists.

Jesus Osete, Principal Deputy Assistant Attorney General for the Justice Department’s Civil Rights division, warned Arizona’s Secretary of State Adrian Fontes on X.com that a lawsuit was being filed if Arizona did not turn over the voters rolls by close of business on Monday, January 5.

This lawsuit brings the Justice Department’s nationwide total to 23 states and the District of Columbia.

According to a press release issued by the DOJ, Connecticut was added to that list on Tuesday as well.

  1. Fontes hails from lil ol’ Santa Cruz county…the smallest county in AZ with the biggest fraud! Look up Liz Gutfahr the Democrat Treasurer. She is the standard for Santa Cruz. 38 million dollars stolen from the local school districts. Because part of being a good Democrat is being a great criminal.

  2. Of course fontes did not respond to the feds, he needs time to destroy evidence of the fraud in Arizonas voter rolls. Fontes needs to go to jail along with Mayes. On the other hand congress had better get off their lazy asses and pass a national voter ID law before the mid terms.

  3. Thank you Arizona for protecting and guarding.my voting information. The administration of elections is a states job not a Federal one. Keep the Federal government away, I do not trust this administration with any of our data. They are too power hungry for themselves and do not honor the individual. They could cancell my registration because they do not like my voting history.

    • Fontes cares not one bit about your information. He has proven repeatedly that he is more concerned with getting himself and other DEMS elected, by hook or crook. He will lose this case, just as he has lost others, such writing illegal rules into the voting-process manual. Justin Heap, Maricopa County Recorder, initiated a clean up of voter rolls, only to be shut down by Maricopa’ board of supervisors. Wake up and smell the corruption!

    • WE THE PEOPLE of Arizona have NO FAITH in our corrupt STate govt
we THANK President Trump(even my hispanic wife applauds all he’s doing) for his committment to stop these zealous democrats for their FAILURE to act in TRUTHFUL way
keep up GOOD work President Trump(yours also)

Time is NOW to stop mail in ballots
and PLEASE punish our rogue senator Mark Kelly Giffords

  4. Fontes
    Avoids
    Federal
    Oversight

I actually pity Fontes if he’s going to be represented in court by AG Mayes. Might as well be measured up for prison garb now, Adrian.

  5. Before he was elected in 2016 as Maricopa County recorder, Adrian Fontes was an attorney representing clients in narco-terrorism and firearms scandals. Fontes, a Democrat, represented Manuel Celis-Acosta in 2011 following his arrest in Operation Fast and Furious. Manuel allegedly transferred around 2,000 weapons to the Sinaloa Cartel, including those that were allegedly used to kill Border Patrol agent Brian Terry. Cartels are in bed with democrats and helped rigged the elections.
