Phoenix Police Arrest Suspect in Deadly QuikTrip Shooting

Police have arrested a man, Deondre Stephon Franklin, in connection with a deadly shooting outside a QuikTrip in east Phoenix.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, officers took the 25‑year‑old Franklin into custody on Saturday for the death of 52‑year‑old Danny Lyn Kaster.

On Friday, January 16, at around 7:45 a.m., officers responded to the area of 4400 East Oak Street in response to a call about a shooting. When officers arrived on scene, they located Kaster with at least one gunshot wound. Phoenix Fire arrived and transported him to a local hospital where he died from his injury.

Did the shooting happen outside or inside the QT? Was a weapon recovered from the scene? How did they find and arrest the suspect? Was he still at the scene?
