An investigation of a two-vehicle traffic collision involving a deputy with the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office is underway.
According to the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office, shortly after midnight on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, a deputy was responding to assist the Sierra Vista Police Department with an urgent call when a 2025 Hyundai made a left turn in front of the marked Sheriff’s Office vehicle.
The Hyundai, registered to a 26-year-old individual from Hereford, reportedly turned in front of the responding deputy, resulting in the collision.
Both the driver of the Hyundai and the Sheriff’s Office deputy sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to Canyon Vista Medical Center for evaluation and treatment.
The collision is currently under investigation by the Sierra Vista Police Department.
