Another Phoenix jaywalker is dead.
According to the Phoenix Police Department, at around 7:35 p.m., officers responded to the area of 63rd Avenue and McDowell Road regarding a collision involving a pedestrian. When officers arrived, they located an adult male, later identified as 44-year-old Michael Arvallo, who was unresponsive. The Phoenix Fire Department arrived on the scene and pronounced Arvallo deceased.
Detectives believe Arvallo was crossing McDowell Road just west of 63rd Avenue, not using a crosswalk, when he was struck by the vehicle. The driver of the vehicle did not remain at the scene. Detectives located the involved vehicle at a secondary location, unoccupied.
