An elderly man is dead after driving headlong into oncoming traffic on a Phoenix road.
According to the Phoenix Police Department, at about 6:35 a.m., on June 6, officers responded to the area of 3800 E. Thomas Road for a two‑vehicle collision. Officers and fire personnel arrived and removed the driver and passenger from an SUV. Both were transported to the hospital. The driver did not survive his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the hospital.
The driver of the second vehicle was not injured and showed no signs of impairment.
Officers learned that the SUV, driven by a 70‑year‑old man, for unknown reasons veered across the roadway into oncoming traffic and collided head‑on with the second vehicle.

Nobody wants to admit that we might no longer be capable of doing those things we’ve done most of our lives, especially when our peers are still perfectly capable. But, to quote Eastwood, a man has got to know his limitations. RIP, sir, deepest condolences to the family of the deceased, and best wishes for a full and speedy recovery to the injured.
death from old age driving.. more common than yah think – heads up!
