A new identity‑verification requirement for customers using the Arizona Business Center online filing portal will begin July 20, 2026, according to the Arizona Corporation Commission.
This security measure is designed to prevent fraudulent business filings and protect Arizona business owners from unauthorized activity.
Online users will be required to provide a form of government‑issued identification when registering online for the first time.
Current Arizona Business Center (ABC) account holders will be prompted to “verify” by providing a form of government-issued identification the first time they log into their online account on or after July 20th.
Acceptable forms of ID include:
- State‑issued driver’s license
- State‑issued photo ID
- Permanent Resident Card or Visa
- Passport or Passport Card
The identity‑verification step was designed with efficiency and ease of use in mind, and most users will complete it in just a couple of minutes. While it adds a brief step to the registration process, the Commission emphasizes that the increased security and protection far outweigh the effort. Once the ID has been verified, you will not need to verify that account again.
Since the launch of Arizona Business Center in January 2026, the Commission has already seen a decline in unauthorized business filing and identity‑fraud complaints. The new verification requirement builds on that progress by adding a modern, secure safeguard that helps confirm only verified users can file or modify business records.
Additional security measures will also be introduced in the coming months.
