A 24-year-old woman, Grace Marie Vicente, was arrested Thursday night for allegedly stealing an ambulance and driving it while impaired and crashing.
According to the Phoenix Police Department, on August 27, 2026, at approximately 11:00 p.m., Vicente entered the driver’s seat of a Phoenix Fire Department ambulance that was parked at a business near 2100 North 83rd Avenue.
Phoenix Fire personnel were not on a call. The ambulance was staged and available for service at a concert venue near 83rd Avenue and Encanto Boulevard. The ambulance was running and keys were not left in the vehicle.
Shortly after leaving the scene, Vicente collided with another vehicle in the immediate area. The driver of that vehicle was transported with non-life-threatening injuries.
Officers responded, located Vicente, and took her into custody. Officers observed signs of impairment, and she was later booked for DUI and theft of means of transportation.
