UPDATE: 72-Year-Old Globe Man Arrested For Dealing Meth, Heroin

UPDATE: Mr. Reinhert was found dead in his cell on August 3, 2020, at approximately 4:30 a.m. Globe Fire Department was dispatched to the jail and emergency responders provided medical attention. Mr. Reinart was pronounced deceased at 04:43 a.m. of what appears to be natural causes. Mr. Reinart’s remains have been transported to the Pinal County Medical Examiners office to determine cause of death.

GILA COUNTY – A 72-year-old man, Tommy G. Reinert is in custody after being nabbed with meth, heroin, and other narcotics with a street value of over $100,000.

Reinert was charged with Transportation of a Narcotic Drug for Sale, Possession of a Narcotic Drug for Sale, Possession of a Dangerous Drug for Sale, Possession of a Dangerous Drug, Possession of a Narcotic Drug, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Misconduct Involving a Weapon in a Drug Offense, Money Laundering, and Use of an Electronic Communication Device in a Drug Related Offense.

According to the Gila County Sheriff’s Office, at approximately 1:34 p.m., the Gila County Drug, Gang and Violent Crimes Task Force and the Globe Police Department conducted a “consensual encounter at the Shell gas station in Globe, Arizona. During the encounter indicators of criminal activity were observed and narcotic drugs were seized.”

A search warrant was executed at Reinert’s residence which resulted in the confiscation of 640 grams of methamphetamines, approximately 129.5 grams of heroin, and 156 narcotic pills, along with $14,796 in cash. The methamphetamine has a street value of $64,000, heroin seized has a street value of $16,187.50 and the narcotic pills has a street value of $3,900.00.
