Pedicone Arrested For Oro Valley Hit And Run

On July 4, 2016 at approximately 6:15 a.m. the Oro Valley Police Department investigated a hit and run collision involving a pedestrian and 37-year-old John J. Pedicone, who is believed to be the driver of the vehicle at the time of the incident.

The victim, a 65 year old male, was struck while walking along the 9300 block of N Calle El Milagro. The suspect vehicle fled northbound into the area of the Oro Valley Country Club. The victim was transported to Banner University Medical Center and is in critical condition having sustained serious physical injury.

john-jay-pediconeThe suspect information was limited. The vehicle was described as a black in color “cube” style vehicle with significant damage to the windshield and front grill area. The information was disseminated on social media. Officers also saturated the area and continued to canvass the area. During their canvass officers spoke with numerous residents. Officers provided the suspect information and requested contact if the suspect vehicle was seen. At approximately 10:22 a.m. information was received that the suspect vehicle was seen at his parents’ residence in the 100 block of W. Oro Valley Dr. in Oro Valley Country Club.

The Oro Valley Traffic Investigations Unit, with the assistance of patrol, responded to the residence. The vehicle was confirmed as being a 2010 Nissan Cube. It had damage consistent with this incident.

The traffic investigators have determined the registered owner is John J. Pedicone. He was evaluated for possible impairment due to intoxicants. Mr Pedicone was arrested and booked for failing to stop at an accident involving serious physical injury or death (F2) and Aggravated Assault; causing serious physical injury (F3).
