On Saturday, the Los Angeles Urban Policy Roundtable called for “WAR” in the aftermath of President Trump’s pardon of former Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio. Trump pardoned the 85 year-old Arpaio on Friday.

The Phoenix branch of the Los Angeles Urban Policy Roundtable, issued the press release calling for war on Saturday:

“This zct (sic) by 45 clearly leaves no doubt where doofus stands,” says Pedro Baez, President of the LAUPR’s Phoenix Branch, “This pardon to a man who clearly abused his authority by engaging in racial profiling is an insult to the Brown community”

“Any Republican who sides with trump should be voted out of office,” says National President, Los Angeles Urban Policy Roundtable, Earl Ofari Hutchinson, “This shames and disgraces all people of color who fought and died for this country. We now officially declare WAR on all who continue to back trump (sic).”

Baez told the ADI on Sunday that the group believed a call to war “was maybe a little bit too strong.” As a result, the group sent out a second press release on Saturday demanding that AZGOP Chair Jonathan Lines join Sen. John McCain in condemning Trump and Arpaio.

Last week, the group “called for the removal of all monuments honoring the Confederacy in Arizona.” Los Angeles Urban Policy Roundtable President and Executive Director Dr. Earl Ofari Hutchinson said in a press release: “Today we call upon Arizona Governor Doug Ducey to begin removal of all Confederate monuments in Arizona.”

The Daily Caller reported that Baez stated, “Removal is what we’re after, not defecation. Just as we have condemned graffiti in the past, we condemn whoever did this vandalism. Our position is whoever did this should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.”

When asked to clarify the term “defecation,” Baez stated, “The objective is to remove the monuments. Vandalizing is not what we’re about.”

While his basic understanding of the English language appears to be weak, the soft-spoken retired accounts payable clerk’s passion for progressive politicians and their fiery rhetoric is not. According to Baez, he is close personal friends with Rep. Maxine Waters and Rep. Raul Grijalva.

Baez said that he and Waters met each other when they were working on the “Martin Luther King Hospital issue years ago.” Baez boasted that the hospital is used to train doctors preparing to be deployed to war zones. “The injuries are similar,” he said with pride in his voice.

Baez said that the hospital came to the nation’s attention when physicians there “saved two Israeli tourists.” Baez, who spoke with affection of his political allies, seemed surprised that the tourists received care. He stated that hospital staff “even saved them,” referring to the tourists in a tone that insinuated that they were political enemies.

He quickly followed-up by noting that his heroes are Chaya Weinberg-Brodt, an expert on jury nullification in the defense of anti-Viet Nam War protesters, Caryn Spector and Bracha Din (nee Bari Irene Dinnerstein).

After moving to Arizona from Los Angeles last December to be close to his grandchildren, Baez joined forces with Rep. Raul Grijalva, who he described as a “dear friend” and Delores Huerta. Baez would not specify as to the nature of the project they worked on together.

Baez also had kind words for McCain and hoped that Lines “will come out and say something.”

Baez still is the executive producer of the Hutchinson Report, which airs on KPFK 90.7FM on Saturdays.

In 2005, the Los Angeles Times called Hutchinson’s group “an influential forum in South Los Angeles. Politicians and school officials make it a first stop when reaching out to blacks.”

Hutchinson touts himself as an “award winning journalist and commentator.” According to Wikipedia, Hutchinson is the author of multiple books including: The Myth of Black Capitalism, Let Your Motto Be Resistance: The Life and Thought of Henry Highland Garnett, The Mugging of Black America, Black Fatherhood: The Guide to Male Parenting, The Emerging Black GOP Majority, and The Latino Challenge to Black America: Towards a Conversation Between African Americans and Hispanic.

Currently Hutchinson is hawking his new ebook, Why It’s So Tough to Prosecute Cops, on Amazon.
