Tucson Police Investigating West Side Homicide

On Sunday, Tucson Police responded to an a report of an injured man at an apartment complex on Tucson’s West Side.

At approximately 1:30 a.m., officers responded a caller who reported locating a large amount of blood at 301 W. Helen St. and followed the trail to where the victim was located at West Speedway Boulevard and North 11th Avenue.

Upon arrival, officers found the unresponsive male with obvious signs of sharp force trauma. They immediately rendered aid until Tucson Fire was able to take over medical treatment. Shortly after arrival, the unidentified victim was pronounced deceased on scene.

Detectives believe, based on evidence located at the scenes and statements from witnesses who heard a verbal altercation, that the incident took place at the apartment complex. There are no suspects in custody at this time. Detectives are currently following up on leads, but are asking anyone with information to call 88-CRIME. You can remain anonymous.
