New Criminal Charges Filed Against Cochise County Jail Chaplain

A grand jury returned “true bills” with 28 new charges filed Doug Packer, a chaplain with the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office.

According to the Cochise County Sheriff’s office, the Cochise County Attorney’s Office presented additional charges to the Cochise County Grand Jury on Thursday.

Packer remains in administrative leave from his chaplain duties for the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office.

The new charges are as follows:

2014-2015

● Sexual Assault x 1

● Sexual Conduct x 6

● Indecent Exposure x 5

2017

● Indecent Exposure x 1

● Sexual Conduct x 1

2018

● Sexual Abuse x 4

● Sexual Conduct x 3

● Aggravated Assault x 2

● Kidnapping x 2

● Indecent Exposure x 1

●Sexual Assault x 2

The investigation is being continued by the Cochise County Sheriff’s Office.
