TUCSON – Pima County Supervisor Richard Elias has passed away. The news stunned fellow Board members.
Elias, a Tucson native, served on the Board of Supervisors since he was first appointed to it in 2002.
Tucson Mayor Regina Romero honored Elias in a tweet using his customary Facebook sign-off, “Resist. Much love.”

The 61-year-old Elias passed away in his sleep. He is survived by his wife Emily and daughter Luz.
