Phoenix Police responded to a traffic collision at 50th Drive and Thomas Road. When the officers arrived, they learned a silver SUV was heading westbound on Thomas Road when it drove onto the eastbound lanes and collided head on with a brown passenger vehicle.
The driver of the silver SUV, Angela Casas, sustained life-threatening-injuries and was transported to a local hospital when she was pronounced deceased. An adult male passenger of the silver SUV and the driver of the brown passenger vehicle were also transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
There were no other individuals involved in the collision. Preliminary information suggests impairment maybe a factor. At this time, the traffic collision remains under investigation.
