
Phoenix police detectives are investigating a fatal collision involving a pedestrian that happened in the evening hours on Wednesday night in the area of 57th Avenue and Thomas Road.
Just after 6:00 p.m. on December 14, 2022, Phoenix police responded to 5700 West Thomas Road regarding a collision involving a vehicle and a juvenile pedestrian, identified as Pascal Asukulu. Asukulu did not survive his injuries and was pronounced on scene by the Phoenix Fire Department.
The driver involved in the crash remained at the scene.
Detectives responded to take over the investigation. Preliminary information indicates that Asukulu was in the roadway when he was struck by a vehicle driven by an adult male going east on Thomas Road. Impairment is believed to be a factor.
