Phoenix police detectives are investigating a fatal vehicle collision involving a pedestrian in the area of 83rd Avenue and McDowell Road Saturday night.
According to the Phoenix Police Department, at about 8:30 p.m. on February 11, 2023, officers responded to a call of a collision near 83rd Avenue and McDowell Road. When officers got to the scene, they saw 36-year-old Lucian Mosoianu lying in the street. Lucian Mosoianu was pronounced deceased on scene.
Detectives learned that the vehicle was driving westbound on McDowell Road and struck Mosoianu while he was crossing diagonally through the intersection. The driver of the SUV was evaluated for intoxication, processed for DUI, and was cited and released from the scene.
