North Valley Collision Leaves Man and Woman Dead

Phoenix Police detectives are investigating a north valley collision that resulted in the death of a man and a woman.

On September 21, 2024, around 9:25 a.m., officers responded to the area of 15th Avenue and Bell Road regarding a collision that resulted in injuries. When officers arrived, they located three adults who were injures. The driver of one of the vehicles, identified as 85-year-old Fouad Shawo, and the passenger of the same vehicle, identified as 85-year-old Virgins Nathan, were both transported to a nearby hospital with serious injuries. Unfortunate both did not survive their injuries and were pronounced deceased.

The other driver, an adult, was also transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and is expected to survive.

Detectives believe that the vehicle containing both Shawo and Nathan was traveling westbound on Bell Road and making a left turn onto 15th Avenue when it was struck by the other vehicle involved, which was traveling eastbound.
