
A Glendale man who decapitated his mother has been indicted by a grand jury.
Alejandro David Gonzalez was charged with First Degree Murder, a Class One Dangerous and Domestic Violence Felony; Theft of Means of Transportation, a Class Three Felony; and Tampering with Physical Evidence, a Class Six Felony.
According to the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office, on September 27, 2024, Glendale Police Department officers arrived at a home near 43rd Avenue and Bethany Home Road. Inside the residence, officers discovered a deceased woman whose head had been removed. She was identified as the defendant’s mother.
Glendale police submitted a case to the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office on September 28, a grand jury indicted Gonzalez on October 3rd.
Gonzalez’s first arraignment is scheduled for Thursday, October 10, 2024, at 8:30 a.m. He is currently in jail being held on a $1,000,000 cash only bond.
