Arizona’s Public Transport Among The Most Dangerous

A new study has looked at which states have the most dangerous public transport, with Arizona ranking ninth.

The study, conducted by personal injury attorneys, looked at data from the US Department of Transport between the years 2021 and 2023 to see which states have the most dangerous and safest public transport.

New York ranks top as the state with the most dangerous public transport, with 9.11 fatalities and injuries per 100,000 residents. In the years analyzed, New York had a total of 1,641 violent incidents, 23 fatalities, and 1,759 injuries.

Following in second is Illinois, with 6.78 fatalities and injuries on public transport per 100,000 residents. Between 2021 and 2023, the state saw 817 violent incidents, six fatalities, and 845 injuries.

Minnesota ranks third, with fatalities and injuries on public transport per 100,000 residents. Over the three years analyzed, Minnesota had a total of 309 violent incidents, six fatalities, and 316 injuries.

Massachusetts is placed fourth, with 4.11 fatalities and injuries on public transport per 100,000 residents. The state saw 280 violent incidents, one fatality, and 287 injuries between 2021 and 2023.

Rounding out the top five is Pennsylvania, with 2.48 fatalities and injuries on public transport per 100,000 residents. Between 2021 and 2023, Pennsylvania recorded a total of 314 violent incidents, six fatalities, and 316 injuries.
