Hit And Run Collision Leaves Man Lying In Roadway Dead In Phoenix

Phoenix Police Department detectives are investigating a collision that left a man dead and a suspect outstanding.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, on January 19, 2025, just after 3:15 a.m., officers responded to a hit and run call, involving a pedestrian, near 41st Avenue and Thunderbird Road. When officers arrived, they found a man on the roadway with obvious signs of trauma. Officers were told the suspect vehicle left the area after the collision. The fire department responded to provide aid but determined the man had died on scene. Officers were unable to locate the suspect vehicle.

Detectives believe the pedestrian, for unknown reasons, was laying on Thunderbird Road when he was ran over by a passing vehicle heading eastbound on Thunderbird Road. The vehicle briefly stopped, but then left the area and continued eastbound. Investigators continue to process the evidence collected on scene.
