Tucson Police Department detectives are currently investigating reports of sexual abuse and sexual assault involving Dr. Dung T. Nguyen who was operating on Tucson’s east side.
Nguyen, a practicing internist, was affiliated with TMC Healthcare-Tucson.
According to the Department, numerous female victims have come forward and reported several incidents that occurred during physical examinations by the doctor.
The reports describe that the doctor engaged in inappropriate touching and fondling of the breasts, and or digital penetration of their genitalia. These incidents were reported to have occurred during medical exams for complaints not related to those areas of the body. Each of these reports were thoroughly investigated by Tucson Police, to include service of search warrants, evidence collection, detective interviews, and other relevant investigative activities.
Detectives presented their findings to the Pima County Attorney’s Office for review. The 65-year-old Nguyen was ultimately indicted on multiple counts of sexual abuse and sexual assault.
