Scooter Rider Killed In Central Phoenix

Phoenix Police Department detectives are processing evidence after a man died after being struck while driving his scooter.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, on June 17, 2025, around 9:05 a.m., officers responded to a vehicle collision at 7th Avenue and McDowell Road. When officers arrived, they found a man on the roadway and an SUV stopped nearby. The fire department responded and treated the man, 35-year-old Thomas Frost, before rushing him to the hospital. While at the hospital, Frost died from his injuries. Officers spoke and evaluated the driver of the SUV and determined there were no signs of impairment.

Detectives believe that the SUV was making a left hand turn to go southbound onto 7th Avenue, from McDowell Road, when it struck the scooter, which was heading eastbound on McDowell Road. The investigation remains active.
