An NAU student has been arrested for distribution of child sexual abuse material by the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office.

The investigation by the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office along with the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force has led to the arrest of a former Paulden resident, Cooper Rade.

Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office detectives learned of CSAM being downloaded by a possible suspect in April of this year. They soon found the individual had recently moved from the Paulden area to Flagstaff to attend Northern Arizona University (NAU).

YCSO detectives began coordinating with agents from other agencies, including the NAU Police Department, to locate the suspect. As a result of the multi-agency effort, investigators served a search warrant in Flagstaff, where several electronic devices were seized. Detectives discovered numerous videos containing CSAM. The investigation showed that the suspect was actively distributing child sexual abuse material to others.

On Monday afternoon, detectives arrested the 18-year-old Rade.

Rade will be booked on several felony counts of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor for both the possession and distribution of Child Sexual Abuse Material.
