In Chicagoland I started a radio show in 2011 and teenage political activist Charlie Kirk was my very first in-studio guest. We have been acquaintances ever since. I saw him develop into a national leader and in the last few years a prominent Christian apologist. Charlie Kirk is my generation’s Billy Graham! I have seen Charlie share the good news of Bible based Christianity with thousands of people and have many non-political friends who have heard him preach through his social media presence. Charlie Kirk was truly a martyr for his Christian faith. Charlie may have only lived 31 years, but his life bore abundant fruit. Charlie demonstrated the characteristics of the Holy Spirit, such as love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control, as well as engaging in good deeds and leading others to Christ.
To pay tribute to everything Charlie did for our nation, state. and community, I believe the Town of Fountain Hills needs to proactively step up. Charlie Kirk was a neighbor, he lived here in Arizona. To honor his life and contributions I propose renaming the Fountain Hills town community center officially to Charlie Kirk Freedom Center on September 10, 2026. We owe Charlie this tribute and this is the least we can do to honor his sacrifice. This historic event deserves a historic tribute!
