Early Saturday morning, a man was found dead from a stab wound in the front yard of a Phoenix home after police responded to a domestic violence call.
According to the Phoenix Police Department, on October 4, 2025, at around 3:18 a.m., officers responded to the area of 46th Street and Devonshire Avenue regarding a domestic violence. Once officers arrived on the scene, they located 50-year-old Erick Michael Chapman, suffering from a stab wound in the front yard. The Phoenix Fire Department arrived on the scene and pronounced the man deceased.
An man was detained on the scene, who admitted to being involved in the stabbing. He was also transported to a nearby hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
Once the man was released from the hospital, he was interviewed by detectives. After being interviewed, the man was released pending the outcome of the investigation.
