Man Indicted for Road Rage Shooting in Peoria

A 20-year-old man, Rudy Sanchez Jr., has been indicted for a road rage shooting in Peoria.

According to the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office, on October 11, Sanchez shot a woman in the leg in the car next to him near Peoria Avenue and the Loop 101. He drove off but was arrested a few days later.

AZFamily reports that the road rage incident started when the woman honked at Sanchez because he was sitting at a green light.

A grand jury indicted Sanchez, Jr. on the following charges:

  • one count of Drive By Shooting, a Class Two Dangerous Felony
  • one count of Discharge of a Firearm at a Structure, a Class Three Dangerous Felony
  • one count of Aggravated Assault, a Class Three Dangerous Felony
  • one count of Aggravated Assault, a Class Four Dangerous Felony
  • one count of Unlawful Discharge of a Firearm, a Class Six Dangerous Felony
  • Sanchez, Jr. is currently being held on $250,000 cash bond, which means he must pay the court the full amount in cash to be released.

    Trial is currently set for February 26, 2026.
