Phoenix Police detectives are investigating an overnight shooting that left one man dead and another in jail.
On November 15, 2025, at around 2:00 a.m., officers responded to the area of 19th Avenue and Northern Avenue regarding a shooting. When officers arrived, they found an adult male with at least one gunshot wound. The man did not survive his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Phoenix Police Homicide Detectives responded to assume the investigation. An adult male identified as 42-year-old Craig Poorthunder was contacted at the scene and determined to be the shooter. He was arrested and after being interviewed, he was booked into jail on murder charges.
