Toddler Injured in Daytime Shooting in Phoenix

According to the Phoenix Police Department, detectives are investigating a shooting that left a toddler seriously injured.

On January 6th around 12:19 p.m., officers responded to an unknown trouble call near 2900 East Wier Avenue. When they arrived on scene, officers located a toddler with what appeared to be a gunshot wound. Phoenix Fire arrived on scene and transported the toddler to the hospital with serious injuries. The person or people responsible left the scene before officers arrived.

Detectives believe this was a domestic violence incident, however as the investigation continues, this may no-longer be the case.
