Phoenix Police Department detectives are investigating a pedestrian who was struck by a vehicle and died.
According to the Phoenix Police Department, at around 7:29 p.m., officers responded to the area of 35th Avenue and Thunderbird Road regarding a pedestrian who had been struck by a vehicle. When officers arrived, they located an adult female in critical condition. The Phoenix Fire Department arrived on the scene and transported the woman to a nearby hospital where she was pronounced deceased.
The vehicle involved with this incident left the scene prior to police arrival.
Detectives believe the woman was crossing mid-block and was not using a crosswalk when she was struck by the vehicle. Anyone with information is encouraged to call police or SILENT WITNESS at 480(WITNESS) or 480(TESTIGO).
