Phoenix Jaywalker Killed in Early Morning Crash

Phoenix Police detectives are investigating after a man was struck by a truck and died.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, around 3:25 a.m., officers responded to the area of 2200 West Cactus Road regarding a pedestrian who had been struck by a vehicle. When officers arrived, they located an adult man in critical condition. The Phoenix Fire Department arrived on the scene and transported the man to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The vehicle involved with this incident remained on scene and was not believed to be impaired.

Detectives believe the man attempted to cross the road mid-block and was not using a crosswalk when he was struck by the vehicle. The driver of the truck was not showing signs of impairment and speed is not believed to be a factor in this crash.
