Man Arrested for Death Of Phoenix Cyclist

A man is in custody in connection with the death of a cyclist.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, around 11:18 a.m., officers responded to the area of Central Avenue and Elwood Street regarding a person on a bicycle who had been struck by a vehicle. When officers arrived at the scene, they located the adult female, later identified as Hannah Rose Henry, in critical condition. The Phoenix Fire Department arrived on the scene and pronounced her deceased. The driver of the vehicle involved did not remain at the scene.

Detectives located the vehicle involved and contacted an adult male, identified as Eric Dustin Hodge, at a residence, who admitted to being involved in the collision. Eric was booked on Manslaughter and leaving the scene of a fatal collision.

Preliminary information suggests Hannah was using the designated bicycle lane when the vehicle involved veered to the right, striking Hannah.
