Phoenix Woman Killed In Double Hit-And-Run

A woman is dead after she was struck by two vehicles that fled the scene.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, at around 9:50 p.m., officers responded to the area of 39th Avenue and McDowell Road regarding a collision involving a pedestrian. When officers arrived on the scene, they located an unresponsive adult female.

The Phoenix Fire Department arrived on the scene and transported the woman to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.

Detectives believe that the woman was walking westbound on McDowell Road using the curb lane when she was struck by a vehicle described as a tan SUV that was also westbound on McDowell Road. The woman was struck again by a second vehicle described as a white SUV that was westbound on McDowell Road.

Neither driver remained at the scene.
