After pleading guilty to two counts of Second-Degree Murder for causing a fatal crash in Gilbert, Robb Louis Hintzsche has been sentenced in Maricopa County Superior Court to 24 years in prison.
.
According to the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office, in September 2025, Hintzsche was driving under the influence heading westbound on Ray Road when he failed to stop at a red light and crashed into a vehicle carrying Lyft driver Nicole Snell, her service dog Belini, and 33-year-old mother of two, Marisa Jorgenson. The force of the impact caused the vehicle to spin and collide with a traffic pole, killing all three passengers.

According to multiple witnesses and vehicle data, Hintzsche was traveling at a high rate of speed, weaving in and out of traffic, and made no attempt to slow down prior to the crash. Moments before the fatal crash, Hintzsche clipped another vehicle causing it to drive into a bike lane and fortunately, the driver was not injured.

“This man made a deliberate decision to drink a large amount of alcohol and used his vehicle at a speed nearly twice the legal limit. His actions have left two children without their mother, and a family lost their daughter because of the defendant’s reckless actions,” said County Attorney Rachel Mitchell. “Nothing can make up for this unimaginable loss, but we hope the justice achieved in this case offers a measure of closure to these families and their community.”
