TUCSON – On Monday night, U.S. Border Patrol agents rescued an illegal alien in medical distress, Carlos Vargas-Verdin, who just so happens to be wanted by law enforcement in Canadian County, Oklahoma.

According to Border Patrol, agents came across Vargas-Verdin around 11 p.m. while patrolling the desert west of Douglas, Arizona. He was going in and out of consciousness. Agents immediately requested emergency medical services to respond as they attempted to get the 44 year-old Mexican National to safety.

Agents requested the Arizona Department of Public Safety Ranger aircraft to fly in medical personnel and fly Vargas-Verdin to a local area hospital. During a criminal background check it was discovered Vargas-Verdin was not only illegally present in the United States but has an outstanding warrant from Canadian County, Oklahoma.

Vargas will be extradited to Canadian County Sheriff’s Office.
