Prescott Valley Catholic Church Hit By Vandals

With anti-Catholicism on the rise, residents of Prescott Valley were still surprised by an act of vandalism against Saint Germaine’s Catholic Church.

According to Prescott Valley Police, vandals attacked the church sometime between the evening of Sunday, October 18, 2020 and the morning of Monday, October 19, 2020.

The suspect(s) committed the offense of Aggravated Criminal Damage when they toppled a six-foot tall white porcelain statue of the Mother of Jesus to the ground, breaking pieces from it. Estimated cost to repair or replace the statue is $1,500. Also knocked to the ground was the six-foot tall white porcelain statue of Jesus. No damage was done to this statue.

The suspect(s) also destroyed the flowers surrounding the Jesus statue and destroyed support poles for recently planted trees, according to police.
