On Saturday morning, Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Rosa Mroz passed away from injuries she sustained after being hit by a car Wednesday morning.
Judge Mroz was struck by a vehicle while crossing the street near 56th Street and Camelback Road. She was transported to a local hospital in extremely critical condition.
The driver remained on scene. According to the Phoenix Police Department, the preliminary information indicates the driver of the vehicle failed to stop for a red traffic signal light.
Governor Doug Ducey has ordered flags at all state buildings to be lowered to half-staff on Monday in her honor.
