Phoenix Police Department detective have arrested 41-year-old Tommy Banegas for his involvement in the robbery that led to the shooting death of two of his accomplices.
According to the Phoenix Police Department, detectives learned through an extensive investigation that Jovanni Burciaga, Mario Banegas and Tommy went to their victims’ house in a planned home invasion near 4th Street and Pecan Road on December 17, 2023.
During the failed robbery, the victim homeowner shot and killed Jovanni and Mario while Tommy was able to flee the area.
Detectives developed probable cause to arrest Tommy for his involvement in the robbery and related deaths as a result of the robbery.
Tommy was booked into Maricopa County jail on January 9, 2024.
