Teen Indicted As Adult In Murder Of Man At Mesa Trailer Park

Edgar Cano Quintero, age 16, has been charged and indicted as an adult in the murder of a man at a Mesa trailer park last month.

According to the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office, on December 18, 2024, Quintero is seen on surveillance video shooting and killing a man inside a pickup truck in Mesa near McKellips Road and the Loop 202 Red Mountain Freeway. Quintero is seen running from the scene of the shooting, then returning to the truck and leaving with the deceased victim inside. Mesa Police detectives found the truck, and the deceased victim, abandoned in the desert.

Quintero was subsequently arrested and is currently being held on a $1 million cash-only bond.

Quintero is facing multiple charges including:

  • One count of First-Degree Murder, a Class One felony
  • One count of Armed Robbery, a Class Two felony
  • One count of Theft of Means of Transportation, a Class Three felony
  • One count of Abandonment or Concealment of a Dead Body, a Class Five felony
  • One count of Tampering with Physical Evidence, a Class Six felon
