Steven Seagal and MCSO concludes drug interdiction operation

The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office Drug Interdiction Unit with Special Deputy and actor Steven Seagal concluded a two-day operation last night in which three undocumented entrants were intercepted transporting about 500 pounds of marijuana from Mexico into the United States. The drugs had an approximate street value of $250,000.

The suspects were located in the desert of the I-8 corridor of Maricopa County by Sheriff’s deputies who say that the drugs seized were destined for east coast cities.

One suspect, Jesus Lleyva Castillo, an undocumented entrant, was taken into custody by Sheriff’s deputies and booked on several drug related charges. He has an extensive criminal history in Arizona. Two others were detained, questioned and turned over to the U.S. Border Patrol. The investigation is continuing.
