C-FAIRR taking on Pima Community College

C-FAIRR, a local advocacy organization recently formed to challenge public policy and promote adequate, honest, and effective representation in the State of Arizona, is currently taking on Pima Community College. C-FAIRR is requesting from Barbara LaWall, Pima County Attorney to conduct an investigation into the actions of the Board of Governors and Chancellor Dr. Roy Flores, who have recently been in the center of a “whirlwind of allegations.”

Mario Gonzales, one of the founders of the Coalition for Accountability, Integrity, Respect, and Responsibility, says that it is time for the community to challenge what C-FAIRR considers a fiasco. “We must uncover the truth about these serious allegation against Dr. Flores and the Board of Governors, and expose the people who condoned unethical conduct to go unchallenged.”

One of the strongest criticisms against the Board of Governors relates to an interview with Arizona Public Media, in which Board Chair Scott Stewart admitted that they were aware of the allegations against Flores–who is on medical leave.

C-FAIRR says that as a civic organization dedicated to creating community awareness and advocating for necessary changes in inappropriate public policy, “we are prepared to take the necessary action and elect people who will elevate the community above the mediocrity we are witnessing in Arizona. The public deserves nothing less.”

Since the beginning of this year, the Arizona Daily Independent has reported several serious allegations against Flores, including multiple complaints of sexual harassment, misuse of public funds, and creating a hostile working environment for senior administrators.

The group is asking the public to sign petitions in support of their request (here).
