Heinz will be working with the department to engage with the health care provider community at a variety of levels to help them understand the health reform law and facilitate the rollout process. Heinz told the Yellow Sheet that the “job will definitely evolve as we see where there are barriers or deficiencies of any kind or where the need is greatest to focus my attention or the attention of the office.”
Heinz is planning to relocate to Washington DC, but will maintain his home in Tucson and continue to practice Tucson Medical Center.
When Gabriele Giffords announced her resignation last January, Chairman Rogers convinced or prevented the popular Democrat candidate, from running in the CD8 Special Primary. Heinz stepped aside in party unity. The move lost Rogers a great deal of support in and out of the Party due to Heinz’s reputation as a man of integrity who was willing to work with politicians on both sides of the aisle.
