McCain Flake shut out public on immigration “conversation”

Female attendees of the congressional field hearing on government overreach, hosted by Congressman Paul Gosar, were issued a friendly advisory by security that if they were planning to return to the Mesa Art Center for the John McCain event, security would be tighter; large purses and backpacks would not be allowed in the venue.

Security must not have known that the general public would be left out as well. The riff raff welcomed at the Gosar event, which also featured Arizona Congressmen David Schweikert, Matt Salmon, and Trent Franks, would not be welcome at John and Jeff’s “conversation.”

According to Arizona Republicans, the one-hour “Conversation On Immigration,” hosted by Arizona Senators John McCain and Jeff Flake on Tuesday, August 27, “has stirred up a hornet’s nest.”

They are asking how the senators could hold a “one-hour meeting on one of the hottest issues facing the nation” and not make tickets available to the general public.

Flake and McCain are members of the Senate’s Gang of 8. The Gang of 8 crafted an immigration reform package, which grants amnesty to illegal entrants, but has outraged Arizonans for its failure to secure the porous Arizona border.

Flake declined an opportunity to meet with Arizona’s largest Republican Latino organization. The Arizona Latino Republican Association (ALRA) has developed a practical immigration reform package, The Copper Star Plan, that creates a workers program, requires the completion of the border fence, and grants citizenship to those serving in the U.S. military.

During the past election, McCain told Arizonans that he would fight for the fence. Now, McCain and Flake claim that drones and increased numbers of Border Patrol agents will provide adequate security for those living along the border.
