It is not very often that a selfie lands someone in jail, usually problematic selfies land idiots in hot water with their parents or significant others.
But on Thursday, a 31 year old blue haired bus driver by the name of Timothy Downs, from Mesa, was arrested for Furnishing Harmful Material to a Minor. He was booked in the Pinal County Jail.
The case was reported to the Pinal County Sheriff’s Office by a student at Poston Butte High School. The student reported a friend of hers who is also a student at the school had received a video of bus driver Timothy Downs masturbating.
The 17-year-old female victim was contacted by detectives and confirmed she received the video from her bus driver who she identified as Timothy Downs.
Timothy Downs was interviewed by detectives and admitted to knowing that the victim is a minor who rode his bus, and admitted to sending the victim three videos of him masturbating.
Sheriff Paul Babeu stated, “Timothy Downs betrayed the trust of this victim, her family, the Florence Unified School District and the community. He was entrusted with the welfare of the students while transporting them to and from school and he took advantage of his position and preyed on the victim. He will now sit behind bars and a judge will determine his future.”
