Border Patrol agents question who authorized “de-facto amnesty”

On Monday, Arizona Congressman Paul Gosar, sent a letter to the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman and Ranking Member requesting an official investigation into hundreds of detained illegal immigrants being shipped to Arizona.

Gosar requested an extensive investigation and a public hearing on the matter.

Meanwhile, Border Patrol agents are asking their own questions these days on a union website. The agents of Local 2544, want to know what people would think if “a criminal was released from jail, without bond, and given a piece of paper that says “Hey, whenever you get a chance; notify us where you are at so we can start criminal proceedings against you.”

The agents say that is what is happening on their blog and want to know “how is this possible,” in light of “all those DHS officials, only a few months ago,” who said that “the border is more secure then ever.” They ask, “Where are they now? What has happened to all that border security that DHS said was in place and we could now focus on illegal aliens who are living in the United States? What happened to all those stream lined removal programs that were to deter people from entering the country illegally? What has happened to the ICE personnel that were brought on to deal strictly with deportations? Who in ICE or DHS authorized this de-facto amnesty? Where is all the money that was spent on ICE detention facilities?”

According to agents they “Secretary Winkowski was able to go glob trotting and meet with people in Manila on May 6, Hong Kong on May 8 and London on May 28 at the tax payer expense…”

Agents question why, “with so much turmoil,” the Secretary isn’t “addressing the issues that is happening in South Texas or at least visit the area. And lets not forget the HSI human trafficking training in Colombia. Maybe they should focus on the United States first and work at stopping human trafficking here.”

Agents, while not opposed to immigration, are sympathetic to “so many Americans are out of work” and wonder “how would allowing hundreds of thousands of illegal aliens into this country a good idea.”

Agents argue that a “well regulated immigration policy is a healthy thing for any country,” but such “influxes can become a burden. Not to mention the national security risk that comes into play.” Agents reject the notion that “taking pictures and fingerprints is a valid security check. They point out that “travelers go through more at a TSA checkpoint” then migrants do at the border.

They conclude that the “situation has deteriorated badly in South Texas” and question how busing entrants to Arizona now “seems to be the answer.”
