Tucson Police Give New Meaning To Sanctuary City – No Johns Investigated

crime scene notice

The Arizona Daily Star has reported that the “thousands of suspected customers” of the By Spanish and Daisy’s Delights prostitution rings are “unlikely to ever be charged with a crime in connection with this case,” thus expanding the population to whom the City provides sanctuary.

According to the Star, “The Tucson Police Department said it simply doesn’t have the resources to investigate everyone on the list compiled by investigators and their involvement with the two brothels…”

Just last week, Tucson City Councilwoman Regina Romero denied that the City of Tucson was in fact a sanctuary city, because it does not meet all the legal criteria as one, after the U.S. House of Representatives moved on a bill to cut funding for law enforcement services in sanctuary cities. Sanctuary cities are those in which people who have entered the country illegally are protected from law enforcement.

Whether Tucson is or is not legally a sanctuary for those in the country illegally, it is now sanctuary to those johns, who fuel the human trafficking trade, which exploits women – some of whom are in the country illegally.

According to an attorney with TPD, the Pima County Attorney is still considering bringing charges against the operators of the brothels and the officers who were involved.
