Woman Arrested In Glendale For Pima County Homicide

On September 12, 2015, Deanna Huber was arrested by the U.S. Marshall’s Service in Glendale, Arizona. She was taken to the Maricopa County Jail and booked on one count of First Degree Murder.

She is awaiting extradition to Pima County.

On August 23, 2015, at approximately 10:37 a.m., deputies responded to a vehicle fire in the desert near Waterman Mountain Road, north of Avra Valley Road. When deputies arrived, the vehicle was no longer burning; however there were a few hotspots that needed to be extinguished. Firemen from the Avra Valley Fire Department responded and extinguished the hot spots. The firemen opened the trunk of the vehicle at the request of the deputies on scene. When they looked inside, they noticed human remains within.

Following a forensic examination, the remains found in the truck of the car were identified as 57-year-old Curtis W. Oliver from Mesa, Arizona. Homicide detectives identified 43-year-old Douglas Aukerman and Huber as suspects.

On September 4, 2015, at approximately 11:05 p.m., the Phoenix Police Department arrested Aukerman.
