TUSD In Meltdown After Attempted Suicide, Arrests, Death

The decline of the Tucson Unified School District reached its lowest point on Wednesday after students were arrested for fighting, a student threatened suicide, and the body of a man was found on a school fence.

Palo Verde High School were involved in a fight that, according to sources was initiated in retaliation for an off-campus fight at a nearby McDonald’s on Tuesday. The fight, on Wednesday, which began in a hallway, was reported to police. Six students were arrested and all have been released to their parents.

One student, who had been removed from campus, was arrested after he returned and verbally attacked school officials.

A student at Pueblo High School threatened to kill himself after threatening his classmates and teacher. He reportedly fled from the classoom to the football stadium. Once there he threatened to jump from the bleachers. Tucson Police officers responded and he was taken to the hospital.

The body of a man was discovered by an administrator at Safford K-8, District Superintendent H.T. Sanchez wrote in an email. The body was slumped over a short fence surrounding the campus nearby the location where students are picked up. The body was discovered by the principal and authorities were able to remove it before the students exited the building at the end of the day. Contrary to the official’s claim, the ADI could not find the short fence referenced by the official.

UPDATE: According to sources, who contacted the ADI by email: “The body was found on a property across the street, south of the school. It happened on private property across the street.  Separate property, separate fence.”
