Tucson High School, Roskruge Parents Warned Of Columbine Style Threat

Parents with children at Roskruge K-8 and Tucson High School are being warned of a unverified threat that was made on social media on Thursday.

Authorities do not believe it to be credible threat.

The message below was sent to parents/guardians of Tucson High Magnet School at 6:45 a.m. regarding the threat.

Good morning Badger Parents/Guardians:

It has been brought to our attention that an unverified threat has been made to Tucson High Magnet School. We are working closely with Tucson Police Department, TUSD School Safety, and District Leadership to ensure the safety of our students and investigate the report. We will have both agencies present on campus today.

It has also been brought to our attention that this possible threat is circulating to students via text message and may make its way to Social Media. We will remain in communication regarding the status of the situation. Please know it is our priority to keep all of students and staff safe.

TUSD Governing Board member Michael Hicks said, “I have complete confidence in our staff and our local law enforcement officers. It is unfortunate that someone would create this situation, but we must take every threat seriously. The safety of our staff and our students is our highest priority.”

  1. It’s a shame that students have to be stressed over a threat of violence, maybe it’s real maybe not, but the stress is real. I went to Roskruge Elementary and Jr. High, and back then we had the duck and cover drills of the cold war periodically and that caused some stress too.
If wishes came true I would wish no students stressed over violent threats, just the usual stress like exams and dance class with sweaty palmed 13 yr old boys.

I attend roskruge, and no body came and everyone was very worried.

    • Sorry everyone was worried, it shouldn’t be that way. It’s also a burden on teachers and admin, with the responsibility of keeping their student body safe. Glad nobody came, enjoy your weekend and just think summer vacation is almost here.
