Agents Arrest Convicted Sex Offender On Holiday

TUCSON, Ariz. – Tucson Sector Border Patrol agents arrested a previously-deported sex offender Tuesday evening who was caught in South Eastern Arizona.
Agents from the Brian A. Terry Border Patrol Station arrested Javier Mejia-Pedraza, a 51-year-old Mexican National after he illegally entered the U.S. east of Naco, Arizona.

During processing, agents learned that Mejia has multiple felony convictions, to include lewd or lascivious acts with a minor in 2010 in Los Angeles and prior deportations, the most recent occurring in 2014.

Mejia is being charged with felony immigration charges for re-entering the United States following deportation.
