Teamsters, Sun Tran Ratify New Contract

Sun Tran and Teamsters Local 104 representatives have officially announced a new three-year contract. Bus service will continue to operate as scheduled.

A tentative agreement on the new contract was reached late Friday, July 7. The new contract was ratified Sunday.

A great majority of Teamsters workers voted to approve the new contract.

“This is a great day for Tucson, Sun Tran, Teamsters Local 104 and especially for our bus riders,” stated Sun Tran General Manager Ginger Stevens. “Everyone worked so hard to make sure that we’d be able to continue to provide transit routing to our riders without any interruptions in service. And we were pleased to negotiate a three-year contract.”

“We have a lot of critical tasks ahead of us,” added Stevens. “but getting a multi-year contract signed with no interruptions in service was the most important first step.”
